Grape Collective #Instagram25
I woke up the last two mornings to pleasant news. This morning Grape Collective announced their picks for #Instagram25 — the top 25 wine folks worth following on Instagram. Their point was to select people that do more than just post shots of wine, “instead curating an engaged experience for followers.”
It’s a fun list that includes some of the top influencers in wine, as well as a few friends of mine. It’s worth checking out.
As for me being included, Jr’s and my willingness to embarrass and uglify ourselves, as well as our adoration for our pets seemed to factor in. Here’s a preview.

As for yesterday, Jeremy Parzen over at DoBianchi.com wrote a post on his admiration for Frasca Food and Wine, and its partner and wine director, Bobby Stuckey, and included a generous consideration of my work here on Hawk Wakawaka Wine Reviews.
Jeremy has been an important influence for me. Just after I left my academic career he invited me on a wine trip to Colli Orientali del Friuli for an 8 day intensive of just that appellation. It was a fantastic trip that helped cement my decision to commit to wine. His trust in what I was doing here so early in its launch meant a lot.

If you don’t know Do Bianchi, you need to check it out. Jeremy’s strong ties to Italy, and his bi-lingual abilities make his the best single English-language site to keep up with wine in Italy. He helped break the Brunello story in 2008, for example, as well as keep us updated with how it unfolded, and he’s continued to report on current events in Italian wine and relevant politics, as well as just what’s yummy. I recommend it.
Thank you to Grape Collective, and Jeremy Parzen.
